DESPITE earlier rain, the weather was fine for the third race of the Arden Burgee series at Arden Sailing Club.
With a light north/easterly shifting over the river, there was a need to concentrate on catching every puff of wind.
The Comets of Keith Stevens and John Tildesley were beaten to the first mark of the course by the Enterprises of Stuart Stephen, crewed by daughter Caroline, and Niall Campbell, crewed by Jane Smee.
Thereafter, both Enterprises pulled away from the remainder of the fleet to take second and first places respectively.
In the second race of the afternoon, Keith Stevens sailed away from any opposition in the Comet series whilst in the Enterprise trophy, Niall Campbell and Jane Smee took line honours.
The members of Arden Sailing Club are looking forward to some more exciting sailing as summer's light breezes give way to autumn's brisker blows.
