MALVERN pool ace Andy Jones represented Wales in the eight ball Home International competition in Aberdeen last weekend.
Andy, who represented Wales in the World Championship and European Championships earlier in the year, played against teams from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
In the team championship, Wales won three of their four matches defeating Northern Ireland 15-12, Scotland 15-12 and Ireland 15-12 but lost 16-11 to England, the reigning world and European champions.
Wales met England again in the final and got off to a good start to lead the match but the champions hit back in the final frames to take the title with a close 14-11 victory.
In the individual championship, Andy came through the preliminary round with a 6-2 win against James Grogan of Ireland, but then was defeated 6-3 by Derek Smith, also of Ireland.
The next major international tournament is the European Championships in February to be held in Bordeaux, France.
