WORLD Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK) would like to thank your readers for their generosity during our recent house-to-house collection in the Malvern Hills district.
The commitment and support of 13 volunteer collectors from the local area, and the generosity of the local community, helped us to raise £350.39 to support the vital work we carry out in the areas of scientific research and public education.
Your readers may already know that around 30 per cent of cancers can be prevented by not smoking.
Research supported by WCRF UK shows great hope in the fight to prevent cancer, as scientists now estimate that as many as 30-40 per cent of cancers can be prevented through dietary choices and regular exercise.
Together, these statistics form a powerful message for individuals about having control over cancer risk. WCRF UK aims to translate the research findings into clear guidelines for public health.
If readers would like to find out more about the work of WCRF UK and its diet and health guidelines for cancer prevention, please ask them to write to Fundraising Development, World Cancer Research Fund, 19 Harley Street, London, W1G 9QJ or visit our website www.wcrf-uk.org
