The speed of motor cars through Malvern engaged the attention of the District Council at a recent meeting and frequent complaints have been made by some of the inhabitants in the Wells against the alleged excessive speed of the cars which run between there and the Link. Many are the suggestions made for the better regulation of motor traffic. They range from prohibiting a greater speed than four miles an hour to hanging the motorist! Malvern Gazette, September 22, 1905.

Ledbury Free Press, September 26, 1905.

The innovation of the hop-picking machine to Ledbury means that the farmer is no longer at the mercy of hordes of pickers who could, and did, strike for more pay, sometimes causing heavy losses.
