A TEENAGER from Worcester is organising an exhibition of artwork at an historic church to show what it looked like at different stages in its long history.

Philip Evans, aged 17, said that now renovation work at St John's Church had been completed he wanted to show people how the 12th-Century church, off Bromyard Road, had changed over the years.

The Worcester Sixth Form College pupil, who lives on the same road as the church, said: "It's quite interesting to see all the changes.

"The building has changed many times over the years but some of the original pillars are still there."

The £100,000 revamp saw pews at one side of the church removed renovations to form an area for social use. There is also a new heating system, toilet and fully fitted kitchen.

The exhibition is due to take place on Saturday, October 1, from 10am to 3pm. Entry is free.

On the day there will also be a tour of the church tower.

This will cost £2.50 for adults and £1.50 concession.
