TOP UK snooker players are to stage a great evening's display of skill at a special exhibition night in aid of St Richard's Hospice.

The evening event will take place at Droitwich Snooker Centre in St Andrew's Square on Saturday, September 24.

Five of the UK top tour players including Eddie Cooper, Mark Sutton, Jamie Brown, Dave Brown and Maurice Chapman will be showing off their skills on the green baize.

Community fund-raiser Alison Weston said: "It's all set to be a great evening and we are hoping lots of local snooker fans will take up the chance to come along and watch some real experts.

"It's very generous of the Droitwich Snooker Centre to adopt St Richard's Hospice as their charity of the year."

St Richard's is currently based at Rose Hill, Worcester. Building work has recently started on the new hospice near County Hall, Worcester, and campaigners are working to raise the remaining £350,000 needed to complete the Building Beds Together campaign.

Tickets for the event, starting at 8pm, are £2 per person and available on the door.
