THEATRE CLUB: Pershore Arts Theatre Club held its first evening meeting of the new season when Ray Sturdy gave a slide presentation entitled Worcestershire Remembered. With the use of old photographs he took members back to what life was like 100 years ago and how Worcester in particular had changed. At the end of the evening donations were made to Mencap, for whom Mr Sturdy raises funds.
Outings have been arranged for club members and friends to Stanway House on October 6 and to Birmingham Hippodrome on November 2 to see The Barber of Seville. Visits to Malvern Theatre in December and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford, in early 2006 are being organised.
The next evening meeting will be on Friday, October 21, when Carolyn Greet will talk about Cheltenham High Street in 1810. Meetings are held in the Courtyard Room at Number 8, Pershore Arts and Community Centre and visitors and prospective new members are welcome. Further details can be obtained from Mrs Dot Chapman 01386 552989.
