KIDDERMINSTER duo Pat Smith and Nathan Bailey recovered from a poor start to finish 13th in Europe's biggest pro-am, the Lombard Trophy in Portugal.
Pro Smith and amateur Bailey made a disappointing 76 in last Friday's opening round before restoring pride with a 71 on Saturday to card 147 on the Ocean course at Vale do Lobo in the Algarve.
Smith said: "We're at least happy to have gone under par. I didn't do justice to myself, but Nathan played very steadily."
Bailey contributed three net birdies on the back nine, while he hit a driver, a three-wood, and a sand wedge to four feet for an eagle on the long 16th.
Derbyshire's Paul Wesselingh and his club amateur from Kedleston Park, romped away with the title - and the £10,000 for the pro - with a 129.
l Kidderminster's monthly Stableford and final Stableford were contested on Saturday.

Cleobury Mortimer
JULIE Currie and Wendy Duncan of Cleobury Golf Club ladies section narrowly missed a trip to Morocco to play in the finals of the Ladies Moroccan Salver Pairs Tournament.
The Cleobury pair reached the semi-final, at Birchwood Golf Club, Cheshire, and ended on 35 points, the winners with 39.
The ladies hosted an Am/Am competition on September 7.

WHARTON Ladies won the Kemp Hospice Tournament ladies event, and the best ladies' pair, but Little Lakes dominated the men's event.
Sue Smart, Jenny Andrews, Jane Clee, Lilieth Martin, Bett Middis and Pauline Oliver gained 115 points for the team prize, while Smart and Pauline Oliver took the pairs event with 44 points.
The Little Lakes ladies tied with Cleobury Mortimer for third place with 102 points, and comprised: captain Marilyn Wood, Sarah Laker-Smith (vice-captain), Judith Davies, Pauline Baylis, Sheelah Salsby, Chris Yeomans.
Men's winners: Little Lakes 125 (captain Mike Wood, Phil Hobby, Clive Williams, Dave Flavell, John Roberts, Phil Bedford). Best Men's Pair: Little Lakes 45 (Roberts and Bedford also won the Richard Bannister Men's doubles prize for the best score on the day).
