AROUND £900 was taken during a distraction burglary after the female victim in her late 80s opened her door to a man claiming to be working on a pond or cess pit at a neighbouring property.

The man said he needed to turn off valves at the woman's house, off Gilgal, Stourport, at about 8.50am on August 27. She refused him entry but he was insistent and gestured to her to come outside. While she was outside, two other men got into the house.

A neighbour then became suspicious and questioned the man. He said he needed to speak to his boss on his mobile phone and left. The neighbour then found the other men in the house. They pushed past her and left.

All three men were white. The first was smartly dressed. They were believed to have been in a silver Ford Galaxy or something similar.
