A KIDDERMINSTER teenager has been ordered to pay £183 costs after abandoning his appeal at Worcester Crown Court against a conviction for common assault.
Russell Watkins, 18, of Franchise Street, had been ordered by Kidderminster magistrates to do 40 hours unpaid work for the community and pay £120 costs and £50 compensation to his victim, Craig Jones.
It was alleged he had thrown a brick at Mr Jones, injuring him on the leg.
Miss Joanne O'Shea, for Watkins, said he had decided to take a pragmatic view of the situation and not proceed with the appeal.
She said Watkins, a keen footballer, was on a youth training programme at Brintons Carpets in Kidderminster.
