I FEEL that I must protest at the latest cuts in public transport provision, and the decision to re-route some services to the detriment of passengers.
Why build a new bus station next to a major shopping complex, only to decide that some local services will no longer serve it.
Who makes these decisions on the passengers' behalf? Are passengers consulted?
The Number 2 service, in particular, has been subject to three timetable changes already this year.
Communication concerning these changes was poor or non-existent.
The latest change for this service will cause hardship for the elderly, mums with young children and people carrying heavy shopping.
Someone in their wisdom decided the Number 2 service should only skirt the Comberton Estate, leaving passengers to walk longer distances with their shopping etc, and, to make matters worse, it no longer picks up/puts down at the bus station.
So, come on First Bus, and all of you who have a say in how our services are delivered - listen to your passengers first.
Is this why you call yourself First Bus, because you always put yourself first?
