BEWDLEY Town are holding their own in mid-table in West Midlands League Premier Division after recovering from two defeats with a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Casuals.
Back to back reverses had checked their progress following their recent promotion but Jamie Hart's goal was enough to put them back on track against Casuals last week.
Hart's winner came on 15 minutes following a wonderful solo run through the defence.
Bewdley were tested to the limit against their established Premier Division opponents with keeper Steve Thomas called into action several times.
Hart had a chance to extend the lead while Chjris Hough whacked an effort against the post.
The scheduled clash against Dudley Town on Saturday was postponed because of a fixture clash at Stourport Swifts's Walshes Meadow where Bewdley are tenants.
Bewdley travel to Brierley and Hagley on Saturday then return for a midweek battle against Pelsall Villa at the Walshes Meadow at 7.45pm.
Bewdley Reserves are third from bottom of Division Two after a 4-1 defeat at Bustleholme.
Rich Downey's young side hope to bounce back when they visit Wednesbury on Saturday.
Bewdley's under-18s lost 5-4 to top-of-the-table Cradley Town in the Midland Floodlit League last week.
