GARETH Bannister and Mark Evans both scored twice as Worcester Thirds won 7-0 at Finchfield in a pre-season encounter.

Worcester dominated throughout, with impressive performances coming from the younger element.

Bannister and Evans added to their growing reputations as did fellow scorer Ali Mackichan. Phil Jones added a fine strike and penalty stroke conversion.

The Firsts warmed-up for the new season with a 5-1 win over Finchfield.

A move started by Alex Kotlarzewski culminated in an early goal for Chris Adams. The opposition sneaked an equaliser but this only spurred Worcester into action. A penalty flick, won by Adams and converted by Kotlarzewski, made it 2-1 at the break.

Worcester stepped up their performance in the second-half. Kotlarzewski showed his class by intercepting two weak passes to counter and score twice.

The Fifths were 5-2 home victors over Hampton-in-Arden.

Worcester took the lead with a neat touch from Tim Martin. A missed penalty flick followed before Martin got his second.

Andy Taylor scored a third and Stuart Vaughan added a fourth from a short corner after Andy Howie's shot was saved.

Following a second-half blood injury to Gerry Cort, Hampton clawed their way back to 4-2 with Worcester down to 10 men. However, Rob Bonham completed the scoring for the hosts.

The Sevenths lost 8-0 at home to Bournville.

Worcester's defence was tested many times in the first-half and Bournville led 2-0 at half-time.

The visitors controlled the second period, with tired Worcester legs and injuries not helping their cause.

Badgers Pippins won 3-2 at Hampden-in-Arden.

Worcester went behind after dominating the opening 15 minutes but quickly drew level when Joe Drewett pushed the ball home.

Worcester took the lead after the break through Marcus Blaine. Hampden replied but Worcester sealed victory with five minutes to go, thanks to Drewett's second.

Tim Young bagged a brace as Badgers Potters defeated Finchfield 3-1.

Young fired home following a short corner and he converted from a similar position after the break.

The Worcester side were rewarded with a third goal by Simon Dorrell before Finchfield scored a consolation with five minutes left.

Worcester Women Seconds drew 2-2 with Harborne Seconds.

Amy Rowland coolly slotted Worcester ahead early on before two errors saw Worcester trail at the interval.

Bex Close drilled a deserved second-half equaliser.
