THE stunning songs from the hit musical Porgy and Bess are being performed in a special show on tour in the area tomorrow night.

Fourteen fully costumed Black-American singers from the New York production, along with a 15-piece orchestra, will be providing two hours of top class entertainment, performing a new show of the songs from the Gershwin classic.

The cast includes Kenneth L Overton, who has performed in many of the most popular operas, including as Porgy for the Connecticut Opera Company, and recently made his Broadway debut in Baz Lurhman's La Boheme.

Marsha Thompson, Bess, has been cast by Franco Zeffirelli in his new production of Aida in Milan for the Verdi centennial celebration and Everett Suttle, Sportin' Life, has appeared in opera, oratorios and recitals internationally.
