SATURDAY was a great day but there is still much more to come from us.
Results-wise we are where we want to be. But we've still got a few steps to make in terms of performance.
We just need to keep our feet on the ground at the moment. We haven't really looked at the league table because it is so early on and it is such a fragile situation.
I think the most important thing for us now is consistent performances. Any side that has got any ambition at all has to produce consistent performances every week. You can't afford to have a week off.
That has to be our focus now. We have to make sure we turn up every week and we do things right and we don't let it slip.
It was pleasing to get a win against Saracens for no other reason than it keeps my brother, Alex, quiet for six months.
We had a good natter after the game and had a good laugh about it once he got over the initial disappointment.
Pretty
He played very well, which was good. I guess if I could have had it any way, it would have been for us to win and him to play well. So it was a pretty good day for me, although he did manage to get stuck into me once or twice.
My disallowed try at the end was over by about half a yard. It didn't matter ultimately. At the time emotions were very high and I'm not that proud of my reaction. Thankfully Tony Windo managed to pull another try out of the bag.
There has been a lot of talk about uncontested scrums during the week, but it is a very physical game and if guys get injured you can't legislate for that.
You have got to have a rule in place that keeps players safe, which they do. At some point, every team has had to go to uncontested scrums and the weekend was a very physical game.
There were two very big packs bashing into each other for 80 minutes. You are going to get knocks. At the back end of last year we did the same to them when Neil Lyman was injured. You just have to accept it.
There were some pretty good performances at the weekend. Nicolas Le Roux played fantastically well and showed some real talent.
Drew Hickey is playing very good rugby and Tony Windo is doing exceptionally well -- for an old man! He's the second oldest guy in the Premiership and he's in some of the best form of his life.
We've just got to hope that these guys maintain this consistency throughout the season and, touch wood, stay injury free.
I think the biggest cheer was when Tim Collier came on. Even the guys coming off the bench are making a big impact, which is good. It means they are hungry for rugby.
It's going to be very difficult to stop Wasps on Sunday. It's not something anybody else has managed to do this year or for the last few years for that matter.
They've got some world-class players and a huge amount of pace with the likes of Paul Sackey, Tom Voyce and Mark van Gisbergen.
Our defence needs to be spot-on and we can't take our foot off the pedal for a minute.
