AN elderly man was taken to hospital after his car collided with the front of Kidderminster Town Hall.

The 89-year-old's red Ford Escort hit the wall of the Town Hall in Vicar Street at around 3.15pm on Tuesday.

It also collided with a male cyclist and woman pedestrian, who were both treated at the scene for minor injuries, and the driver, from Kidderminster, was taken to Kidderminster Hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the accident, which caused minor damage to the Town Hall and a district council van parked nearby, is unknown.

PC Russell Bunce, of Kidderminster police, said: "The incident was potentially very serious but luckily no-one was badly hurt.

"The driver was initially feared trapped and the air ambulance was called, but it was not required.

"We spoke to quite a few witnesses at the scene, but anyone else who saw what happened and has not spoken to police is asked to contact me at Kidderminster Police Station on 08457 444888," he added.
