A MOVE to put the impressive Shatterford Lakes fishery up for sale has sparked interest from potential buyers from around the country.
The 18.5 acre site off Bridgnorth Road, near Kidderminster, which boasts five lakes and a £100,000 annual turnover, is on the market for £850,000.
Agents Fenn Wright Fisheries4sale reported early and considerable interest in the fishery, which is most famous for its catfish and carp but also has stocks of brown, blue and rainbow trout.
The sale includes an office/shop with a two-bedroomed flat above and the agents said there is the potential of generating more income by concentrating on coarse/match fishing, increasing the shop sales and developing the recently established ornamental fish sales business.
The lakes were built in 1973 and the business opened in the early 1980s. It operated by the previous owners and the current vendor as a wildlife park and fishery.
