THERE is still time to enter a charity road race which is expected to attract more than 300 runners to Stourport on Sunday.

The Brambles Trust 10k and fun run, backed by the Shuttle/Times and News, hopes to push the total raised to almost £20,000 in the last five years.

It starts and finishes at the all-weather athletics track at Kingsway, Stourport, and gets under way at 10.55am.

The event, organised by Kidderminster and Stourport Athletic Club, incorporates the Worcestershire 10k Championship which will bring top athletes from all over the county and beyond.

But fun runners will not be forgotten and a 4k race is included for those who do not wish to tackle the main event of just over six miles. Medals will be awarded to competitors in both races.

Entry to the 10k race on the day is £7 for athletics club members or £8 for unattached runners. The cost for the fun run is £5 on the day.

Money raised will go to the Brambles Trust's work supporting children and their families who have suffered bereavement.

A donation will also be made to the Ray Mercer Sporting Foundation, set up by the Shuttle/Times and News to provide cash grants to Wyre Forest's top young sportsmen and women.
