ALCESTER residents are being asked to offer their suggestions for a "tailor-made" financial service based in the town centre.

As part of its expansion, the non-profit making banking group, Studley Credit Union, is offering an extra mobile banking point in Church House in Alcester town centre.

Credit union volunteers are calling on Alcester residents to offer their suggestions for drop-in times to make the service as accessible as possible.

Studley Credit Union was set up in 1999 for those on low incomes and is run voluntarily by church workers and local activists.

An Alcester drop-off point is already situated in the Pavilions Community Centre on the Conway Estate.

But organisers felt the broadening of the service to include people "from all walks of life" meant an additional base was needed in the town centre.

Credit union development worker, Clare Redman, said: "A town centre service is easily accessible and we want it to be tailor-made to answer Alcester residents' needs.

"We're asking people to speak up and let us know when we're needed so that we can help as many people as possible."

Residents will later receive a credit union leaflet detailing drop-in times at the new venue.

Anyone wishing to offer their ideas or needing more information can call Clare Redman on 01527 853255.
