Bredon Ladies 0,
Evesham Utd Ladies 1
EVESHAM pocketed their first points of the season last Sunday.
The opening period was a scrappy affair in which the visitors created the better of the chances,
The fact that it took until the 23rd minute for the first attempt on goal to arrive spoke volumes for the poor quality of the football on view.
A tackle in midfield by Michelle Badham brought about this chance as the ball broke for new signing Sam Perry to fire just over the bar.
A minute later Perry was again involved as her weaving run along the edge of the penalty area set up Lucy Jeffs who drove just wide.
The only goal arrived after 25 minutes when the Bredon defence failed to clear the ball and Charlene McLou-ghlin crashed a shot into the roof of the net from 18 yards.
After this flurry of activity the game reverted to its previous mediocrity, livened only by the home goalkeeper saving at the feet of Perry after she had been set up by Amy Summers.
A header from Sara Richardson following a long ball forward by Kelly Grove was directed just the wrong side of the post.
If the first half was scrappy then the second was even worse as neither side seemed able to string more than two passes together and the game moved towards its inevitable conclusion with neither goalkeeper having a worthwhile shot to save.
The ladies are at Common Road on Sunday when the visitors are second in the table Burlish Olympic (2pm).
