WORCESTER Warriors are hoping they won't have to witness a little bit of rugby history when they travel to London Wasps on Sunday.

If full-back Mark van Gisbergen notches his first penalty or conversion for the hosts, it will be his 28th consecutive successful place-kick. That will break the all-time record set by Jonny Wilkinson in September 2000.

Van Gisbergen has kicked 21 out of 21 so far this season to go with the six he slotted in the Premiership final against Leicester in May.

Warriors are enjoying a superb start to the season and have not been beaten in the Premiership since the corresponding fixture in April.

They could be without prop Chris Horsman after he twisted his ankle in Saturday's 25-24 win over Saracens.

Wasps are likely to be boosted by the return of Lions lock Simon Shaw, who has recovered from a back injury.

Meanwhile, tries from Mark Tucker and Johnny Taumoheola could not prevent Warriors from slumping to their third consecutive defeat in the Guinness 'A' League.

They went down 35-18 at Leeds Tykes, leaving them bottom of the North League. Simon Whatling kicked one conversion and a pair of penalties for the Warriors.
