I ENJOYED reading the letter in the Advertiser/Messenger on September 7 from Margaret Warman regarding the MG/Rover workers, but are your readers really surprised that the Chinese have been drafted in, I'm not.
I have noticed that over the last 20 years or so, there are more and more imports -not only clothes, but fruit, toys and household goods.
We have banned 'sweatshops' in England and cheap labour, so why are we supporting these places where they are paid a pittance for their hard work?
All businesses seem to think of is profit, profit, and even more profit, to line their pockets to the cost of our British workforce.
I am not racist by any means, but I have only bought British goods for a long time now to keep some of our own workers in a job for a fair days pay.
I have to look far and wide to find British made and grown products.
I know that to be in business you have to make a profit by buying reasonably priced imports, but I would like to be given the choice to buy either.
