A RECENT writer to Your View speaks disparagingly of 'Lido Luddites'. The term 'Luddites' refers to destructive folk who feared change and innovation because of its effect on their livelihood.
Although it may sound clever, this taunt doesn't fit those who look to the future, and support the replacement of the existing run-down and neglected lido with a sparkling new salt-water facility.
Where will the growing population of our town, including those who shop at the new upmarket supermarket, and live in the smart apartment complexes, go for their leisure activities?
To the neighbouring towns?
Whilst the opening up of the canal system can bring benefits to a wider area, let's now concentrate on improving facilities right here in the heart of our town.
In recent years much effort has been made in bringing back the Spa to Droitwich. Don't turn the clock back and undo this good work!
