WHOSE idea was it to put that statue of Alison Lapper, the disabled pregnant woman, in Trafalgar Square.
That place was always kept for historical figures to be displayed and honoured, which is how it should be.This is the wrong statue in the wrong place, or modern day thinking gone mad.
It's stark, white and sticks out like a sore thumb. There is nothing attractive about it.
There are great British people like the Queen Mother or Diana, Princess of Wales, the mother of a future King, who hasn't been immortalised yet. You can dismiss the water feature as irrelevant. Trafalgar Square should have been their rightful place.
