Chipping Norton 7pts, Evesham U-14 38
A STERN team talk at half-time had an inspirational effect on the Evesham youngsters who hit back from 7-5 down to earn an emphatic victory.
There was a lack of communication and understanding in the early stages but skipper Mike Diston was the first to touch down before that competitive rustiness was all too plain to see.
However, the Evesham pack began to dominate until, following two collapsed scrummages, the referee decided on uncontested scrums that only served to negate the visiting side's advantage.
Chippy seized their chance and overcame some solid defending to grab a converted score and with it the interval advantage.
Evesham were a different proposition after the turnaround buoyed by replacements Callum Lance, Henry Appleby, Andrew Chandler and Ben Farrar and there was only going to be one winner.
Newcomer Matt Philips scored a fine try to give Evesham the lead and then soon crossed again to extend his side's advantage.
Contested scrums were rest-ored and pack leader Josh Gre-atrix led the way to more scores as Chipping Norton were taken apart.
Farrar burst through to score under the posts, before player of the Philips completed his hat-trick helped by some dominant line-out play featuring Adam Meadows, Mike Ibbotson, Ant-hony Watts and Mike Gander.
It was now one-way traffic and Diston, who also landed four conversions, rounded off an excellent team display to touch down under the sticks after good work from Ryan Clarke and Luca Grillo.
