POPULAR actress Maureen Lipman takes to the stage as a charming, but tone deaf singer in Malvern's Theatres.
Lipman stars as Florence Foster-Jenkins in the comedy Glorious!, which charts the true-life story of the singer in 1940s New York.
Written by Peter Quilter Glorious! tells how Florence became a big star because she couldn't hold a note and was nicknamed 'the first lady of the sliding scale'.
Lipman has had an extensive stage and screen career - including her hugely successful one-woman show Re-joyce!, about her heroine, the legendary comedian, Joyce Grenfell, which enjoyed three seasons in the West End.
Glorious! plays at the Festival Theatre, Malvern from Monday, September 26 until Saturday , October 1.
Tickets are £18 to £26, call the box office on 01684 892277, or go to www.malvern-theatres.co.uk for more information.
