MEMBERS enjoyed a garden party in August. It was a lovely afternoon. Thanks to Iris Hackett and family for making us all very welcome. Our September meeting was a special one to celebrate 90 years of WI. Brenda Jenkins welcomed members and visitors to enjoy a tea prepared by the committee. Dione Bailey gave the flowers for the committee table, Roma read the secretary's report. Brenda, our president, attended the memorial service for Jayne Boyer, a longtime member of Bromsgrove WI.
Rene Gridge reported about members playing bowls. Tomorrow (Thursday) will see teams playing for the Muriel Brining Cup.
Our speaker was Mel Mills on Worcestershire dialect and country stories.
The vote of thanks was given by Pippa.
During tea the raffle was drawn and the competition for a Worcestershire postcard was won by Brenda. The next meeting for Bromsgrove WI is October 11 at 2.15pm in the Masonic Hall, Churchfields.
