I READ the article about the possible closure of Kays with interest. I find it surprising that Mike Foster is choosing to take such a lead on this topic; when the Ministry of Defence in Worcester closed in 1998 with the loss of several hundred jobs (of which I was one) he was conspicuous by his absence.
There was no promise of a task force to help with re-training or finding re-employment. Then again, why am I surprised? After all, it was his party that decided to close the Ministry of Defence offices.
