POLICE are investigating an alleged racially aggravated assault on four members of an Asian family at a house in Bromsgrove Road on Monday morning.
Officers were called to the house at 12.25am following reports of disorder.
A mother, her two sons and daughter, living at the house, had all been assaulted.
One brother was taken by ambulance to the Alexander Hospital for his injuries but was later discharged.
Three men have been arrested and are helping police with their enquiries.
DC Simon Taylor says: "We believe this incident to be racially motivated and are treating it very seriously.
"One man needed hospital treatment and all four members of the family were very shaken by their ordeal.
"Three men are in custody but our enquiries are continuing and we need to speak to a fourth male in connection with the incident.
"It may be someone saw him running off after the incident or noticed the four men walking along Bromsgrove Road away from the town centre beforehand.
"We're studying CCTV footage from the surrounding area and are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to us to come forward as they may have important information to help our investigation."
Anyone with information can call DC Taylor on 08457 444 888 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
