A REVIEW of city planning procedures is due to be rubber-stamped this week after an Ombudsman reported 'maladministration' in the system.

The scathing report followed a case in September 2003, when a Claines resident who objected to plans for a nearby bungalow complained after he was not consulted on the design.

The findings were reluctantly accepted by the council's standards committee, which agreed to pay up to £750 compensation to the unnamed complainant.

Worcester City Council's planning committee has been advised to re-examine its system to "prevent a recurrence of the administrative faults" and are likely to agree to the review at a meeting on Thursday.
