TWO Pershore High School pupils were special guests at the official unveiling ceremony in Trafalgar Square of a sculpture of their cousin Alison Lapper.
Sisters Alexandra and Rosie Mason were invited to the event on Thursday by Mayor of London Ken Livingstone.
The sculpture, commissioned by Marc Quinn and carved by Italian stonemasons, features Alison - who was born with a rare chromosomal order which left her without arms and only very short legs - naked and pregnant.
The controversial work of art won a competition to occupy the fourth plinth and will remain there for the next 18 months.
Alison's uncle, and Alexandra and Rosie's father, Nick Mason, said it was a fabulous day.
"The girls thought the sculpture was marvellous," Mr Mason said.
"It captures Alison down to a tee and she was in her element when it was unveiled."
