TALKS aimed at averting a series of strikes by workers at distribution centres which deliver goods to Morrisons supermarkets are to be held on Wednesday.
Thousands of workers at several sites, including Bristol, Warrington and Aylesbury in Kent, are due to walkout for three days from Friday. The GMB and Transport and General Workers Union are in dispute with the company over several issues, including jobs, bargaining and consultations.
The two unions said national officials and 25 shop stewards will attend negotiations with the company .
"We look forward to full and frank negotiations. The trade union side will consider the stoppages after the meeting," said the unions.
