AN Evesham pub has been acclaimed for its real ale - by the people who matter.
The Old Swanne Inn, in the High Street, is the only pub in the town to be listed in the Campaign for Real Ale Good Beer Guide 2006.
Local branch members chose following regular visits to check on the quality of the products on offer. The guide states: "The pub offers two or three guest beers and holds several mini-beer festivals through the year. It is an ideal spot to pop into."
A CAMRA spokesman said: "The Old Swanne Inn deserves its place in the guide. If a licensee keeps the beers well and pours perfect pints, everything else will be of a high standard."
Pub manager Melanie Burdon said: "I am delighted that the pub has been recognised for the quality of its beers by CAMRA members.
"Customers love our range of real ales and the staff work hard to ensure that they are kept and served in first-class condition at all times."
