AN amateur playwright will see his dream become a reality with the first stage production of his work.
Anthony Ault, of Worcester, is thrilled that The Hare Has Lost His Spectacles is to be staged at the city's Swan Theatre next month.
The play, inspired, by a rock album, tells the story of the adventures of The Chumps, Hare, Toady and Foxy.
After this accomplishment, the St Peter's resident feels that he might have found his niche in life.
Having never contemplated a creative occupation in the arts, Mr Ault feels that it could be his destiny.
"I went to see a spiritual guide, who looked at me and said: 'There's a creative part of you that you have never expressed".
"He said it it would be like a water pump - as soon you start pumping and the water starts coming through it gushes out without much effort.
"The writing, to me, is very much like that."
Mr Ault had contemplated trying his hand at acting but realised that it was not for him.
"I got involved in helping backstage and someone asked me to help out with children's theatre," he said.
"I thought it was interesting and wondered if I could write.
"I'm hoping to write adults' plays and have got some ideas floating around."
He already has two other children's plays on paper and hopes that they will be equally successful.
There will be performances of The Hare Who Lost His Spectacles at 10.30am and 11.45am on Saturday, October 1, with tickets available on the day from the box office.
