QUEENHILL Women's Institute celebrated a 90th anniversary in style with afternoon tea.
Today (Friday) is the 90th anniversary of the national WI and 31 members of Queenhill WI held an early celebration at their meeting last Thursday.
Mary Wellings, group president, said: "I'm so proud that it has been going on so long.
"It's lovely how women are still interested, we even had two new people come along."
There are many long-term members, such as Renee Foort, who will be 90 next year, and Margaret Clive, who has been in the group for over 45 years.
To commemorate the day, Sue Troughton, a member for 50 years, made an anniversary cake.
The Queenhill branch is still very active, meeting once a month it has several committees and provides community services.
"We have painting and craft groups, also a catering committee that provides food and refreshments for small events," said the WI President.
On the anniversary itself, members plan to buy bulbs and plant them outside their hut to honour the event.
