A HOTEL in the centre of Upton has applied for extended licensing hours.
A hearing has been scheduled for next week to make a decision on plans by The Talbot Hotel, High Street, to extend closing time to midnight every day.
It also wants another hour on top of that for Friday to Sunday on Whitsun, May and August Bank Holiday weekends, Thursday to Sunday on the Easter weekend and Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.
But a number of people have objected, citing worries about crime and disorder, public nuisance and public safety. The hearing is on Thursday, September 22, at 10am, in the Memorial Hall, Old Street.
