BANG in tune with the silly season in politics and journalism, the local authority has decided to spend its loads of spare money by planting new signs to go with the acres of road paint already spread over our lanes.
The latest manifestation of this largesse are signs to indicate the creation of Buckbury on the road from Longdon to the A438.
I've lived not far away for 30 years in the unsigned parish of Holdfast, so I think it's time we got a sign too! At least Holdfast appears on the older Ordnance Survey maps, while Buckbury seems to be a recent artefact dreamed up by some highly qualified committee.
ANTHONY HOPWOOD, Holdfast, Upton-upon-Severn.
