HEREFORD United are chasing a loan striker to partner Danny Carey-Bertram in tomorrow's Conference clash with Morecambe at Edgar Street.
Injuries to Guy Ipoua, Adam Stansfield and Graham Evans have forced the Bulls' director of football Graham Turner to search the market for a stop-gap solution.
If Turner fails to recruit a capable replacement, midfielder Jon Brady is expected to take his place alongside Carey-Bertram with few other options.
Brady was called on to play up front in the second-half of last Saturday's goalless draw at Stevenage Borough, following Evans' withdrawal at half-time.
"We are looking at a number of options in what we are going to do in attack," said United coach John Trewick.
"Of course, we have Jon Brady who played up front at Stevenage in the second-half. It worked well enough because we brought Jamie Pitman on and reverted to an orthodox three-man midfield.
"Jon worked hard in attack and it could be that he's there again.
"We are looking at the option of bringing somebody in short-term. But it's not easy getting the people that you need."
Trewick added: "Adam has a groin problem and we are not quite sure how long he will be unavailable. He's resting it to see how it responds and we'll take it from there. Graham took a whack in his lower back during the first-half at Stevenage. It is touch and go that he will be fit for Morecambe.
"We have missed Guy and Adam but they're not the reason that we've not been converting chances. That comes from the entire team."
Full-back Ryan Green serves the final game of a three-match ban, while centre-half Tamika Mkandawire is unlikely to start as United's three-man partnership of Tony James, Dean Beckwith and Darren Blewitt have yet to concede a goal.
Last season, Morecambe adopted a negative approach at Edgar Street, but took an early lead before Mkandawire levelled for a 1-1 draw.
Trewick is unsure if the Shrimps will look to defend in numbers again. He added: "Last year, Morecambe came here, played a 3-6-1 system and basically showed little attacking intent or willingness to come out and play.
"I don't know what to expect of them this time. They will probably play a similar way, although they are a decent footballing side who mix their game up with short and long passing.
"They have one or two very good players. Michael Twiss is a player who can score a lot of goals."
