I WILL not be at Sixways tomorrow, and I can't remember the last home Warriors game I missed, but it's few years ago.

I do however have a very good excuse for not attending. My daughter is getting married.

Now the amazing thing is that Worcester are playing Saracens tomorrow, and the young man she is marrying is... a Sarries supporter. How does that work out? I have tried many ways to get things changed but the wedding date was set a long time ago, so that couldn't be changed, although I did give the C of E a call, and then tried the RFU to get the rugby game changed... but to no avail.

Anyway, it will be great day tomorrow, and the families and chums will all gather to wish Lynsey and Adrian all the very best, and Steve Gibbs has promised us some pickle with our cheese rolls at the reception at New Road.

All this week I have been trying different ways of getting to work without using my car. This is because of petrol going to near a pound a litre (over in some places) and the so-called petrol shortage.

Monday, I walked. Now it's about nine miles, but to be honest, I really enjoyed it. It takes a while, but once into my stride (sic!) I was away and might do it again one day. Tuesday it was on the bike, now I have ridden the bike to work before, and it's not the biking in that's so bad, it's the biking home after a hard day's graft.

Wednesday I walked to the bus stop, and it cost £2.65, but I have to say the journey in was fine, and good to see a lot of people using the buses as well. Thursday, the train, which meant a four-mile bike ride to the station, and then getting the bike on the train and riding from the station to work.

Extremely pleasant. The people on the train were very helpful.

Today, I'm coming up the river. A big thank you to SARA who have agreed to put me in one of their rescue boats at Upton-upon-Severn and cruise up the Severn... well, it's different. The one good thing about walking and biking to work this week is I lost a fair bit of weight, in fact just half a pound off the target. But with a wedding coming up, I think it might be a gain next weigh-in.

Anyway, must go and make sure the batteries in he walkman are working, rugby commentary in one ear, wedding ceremony in the other... no I wouldn't, honest.
