AS a wheelchair user in Worcester, I am always delighted when any building is made more easily accessible, and this includes the Guildhall.
However, whether this needs to be at the expense of the original fine entrance is another matter.
Do I feel stigmatised by needing to use a different entrance because I am disabled? Not in the least, when that entrance is well planned. Do I feel aesthetically offended to see the main doors closed and with makeshift signs pointing to the side entrance?
Yes, you bet I do. Let's have the centre doors open again so we can all enjoy that fine aspect!
