"The former Seaford Court site is to be the site of Malvern's new community hospital," announced the Gazette a quarter-century ago this week.
"The West Midlands Regional Health Authority has already exchanged a contract to begin buying the site, phased over three years. The initial purchase is 4.4 acres and the total area of the site is 6.6 acres.
"Health authorities already own 2.8 acres of land adjoining the site.
"The contract includes options to buy the remaining land and also a licence to allow the school premises to be rented for one year.
"Building of Malvern Community Hospital is expected to start in 1984."
