A WORCESTER company that provides internet technology to home and business users has again been awarded a prestigious accolade.
Namesco was this week named "UK's number one shared hosting provider," by users of The Webhostdir.com.
Kevin Savage, Namesco chief executive, believes winning this award for the second time firmly underlines the group's status as a leading provider of products from web hosting to broadband.
He was also quick to cite Nameco's dedicated staff as a major factor in achieving the honour.
He said: "I am very proud to say that the success of the business is a credit to the team of staff at Namesco, many of whom have expanded their career as the business has grown during the past few years.
"Winning this award for the second time is an incredible achievement as today's market is increasingly aggressive, with many providers offering hugely discounted services.
"This proves that quality of service and value is more important than price alone."
Namesco has grown steadily and consistently over a period of almost 10 years, weathering the market downturn of the late 90s that sunk many of its competitors.
The company was the vision of two Worcester businessmen, Kevin Savage and Jason Smith.
Both ran city-based internet businesses for almost five years before they merged in 2000. They put a lot of emphasis on recruiting highly-skilled individuals from the local area and now employ more than 50 people.
Namesco recently invested £1.4m in a multi-award winning broadband platform and moved in to custom designed headquarters at Perdiswell Park, Worcester.
Mr Savage added: "We hope to continue our growth over the coming months, with three major product launches planned for the end of this year and beyond.
"With a product portfolio that includes broadband, web hosting and domain registration, we provide a one-stop shop, servicing the internet communication needs of the global community.
"But despite this huge global presence, we aim to maintain a personal approach, where customer feedback reaches the personal mailbox of the managing director and face to face contact is welcomed."
