WYRE Forest Swimming Club's Jessica Griffiths climbed off her sick bed to clinch two gold medals at the Worcestershire County Sprints in Wolverham-pton.
The 10-year-old St John's Middle School pupil feared she would have to miss the championships after being laid low with a stomach bug.
But she showed great character to take part in the competition and was rewarded with golds in the 50metres butterfly and 50m freestyle and bronze in the 100m individual medley.
Griffiths set a personal best in the butterfly.
Mother Lorna said: "We're ever so proud of her because we didn't think she's be able to compete at all, let alone win.
"Her ambition is to take part in the 2012 Olympics and she's very determined."
