A PURSE containing £200 was taken from the bedroom of a woman in her 80s - possibly while she was asleep in her living room.
The thief was believed to have walked in through the victim's front door, which had been left ajar, in Hayes Road, Wolverley between 11am on September 2 and 1pm on September 3.
PC Nathan Finnimore, of Kidderminster police, said house-to-house enquiries had been carried out.
He added: "Police would like to remind householders not to leave doors or windows open unless they are in the room.
"It only takes a few seconds for someone to get in while residents are in the garden or elsewhere in the house."
