ON Monday, September 5, work started on the Bewdley by-pass, narrowing the carriageway and causing some traffic to divert through the town. This had been expected.
What had not been expected was someone in an office arranging to dig up Load Street, leaving the width of one carriageway for all traffic to pass through the town.
The tailbacks had to be seen to be believed in the morning.
This is not the first time this has happened in the Bewdley area, no doubt organised by someone who does not live near the town.
Please can I make a request to the genius who thought this one up to pause and think before coming up with a similar gem.
