BROADWAY Horticultural and Craft Show attracted a record 589 exhibits from a record- breaking 111 exhibitors competing in 106 classes and despite the appalling weather the show still drew a large number of visitors.

The judges were impressed with the standard of the exhibits on the day and were faced with a real challenge to pick winners. In the cookery classes Bernie Thomas beat all the women to take a trophy for the most points won in the section. Show secretary Roger Bailey said: "I would like to express a big thank you to the volunteers the stallholders, the parish church, Broadway garden Club members for supply plants for the plant stall, judges, visitors and exhibitors for months of hard work to exhibit at the show."
