A PERSHORE couple were joined by their family to celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary.
Ernest 'Bill' and Edna Price celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and look back on their marriage with fond memories of when they first met.
The couple who have known each other their whole lives while attending Pershore High School began courting shortly after they left school and later married.
Mr and Mrs Price married in 1945 at Pershore Abbey and were one of the first couples after the war to marry in the church.
"The ceremony was a low key affair as it was just after the war and things were still quite hard for everyone so this anniversary was something nice to look forward to," said Mrs Price.
The Price's continued to live in Pershore after their marriage and worked in the Vale.
Mr Price worked on the land until he retired at 65.
Mrs Price worked at an aircraft company, Norton Crucible in Badsey, before she retired at 60. The couple now spend their time enjoying their retirement at their family home in Pershore.
Mr Price, aged 80, said: "I still continue to work on land today with my two allotments where I grow vegetables. That's something I very much enjoy."
The couple, who have three children and five grandchildren, celebrated the event with a family meal at the Angel Hotel in Pershore.
Mrs Price, 78, added: "It was nice celebrating this special anniversary with the family and grandchildren. My children organised the whole event and it was great - so thanks kids."
