WORKS by Debussy and Ravel will be played by award-winning concert pianist, Christopher Langdown, in the next Live at the Library event in Kidderminster later this month.
The concert, presented by the Classical Music Society, takes place at Kidderminster Library on Friday, September 23.
Birmingham-born Christopher will be making his first appearance in an event organised by the society and brings wide experience of giving concerts and recitals throughout the UK and Europe.
Debussy works he will perform on the night are Deux Arabesques and Preludes (Book II), while Ravel's Menuet Antique and Sonatine will be included on the programme.
Bridge's Dramatic Fantasia and Scriabin's Etude in C sharp minor complete the repertoire for the evening.
Christopher graduated with distinction from London's Royal College of Music - RCM. His musicianship was recognised when he was nominated at the RCM to perform the music of Shostakovich to legendary exponent, Tatiana Nikolaeva.
He has amassed various awards, among them being a prize winner in the 1997 Robert William and Florence Amy Brant Pianoforte Competition, which attracted artists from all over the world.
Christopher has represented the UK in the Limassol European Festival in Cyprus and has performed in solo and chamber concerts abroad.
He has earned acclaim as a chamber player and collaborated extensively with groups such as the Martinu Quartet.
Following two solo recitals at the International Auditorium in Lanzarote, he has given masterclasses under the banner of the British Council in Malta.
As well as his flourishing concert career, Christopher is currently head of piano at the Kingsley School in Leamington Spa and has been a visiting teacher at Birmingham Conservatoire junior department and at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
As an adjudicator, he has been invited to music festivals in Birmingham and Hong Kong.
His 2006-07 season includes concerto appearances and recitals in England, Scotland, Holland and Sweden.
