HISTORY came alive when Victorian costumes were the fashion for heritage weekend events at Kidderminster Town Hall and the town's library.
As part of the national annual celebration of UK heritage, staff of Wyre Forest District Council dressed up in Victorian clothing, to coincide with on-going events marking this year's 150th anniversary of the town hall.
Members of the public visited an exhibition in the library tracing the town hall's history, while the chief executive of English Heritage, Dr Simon Thurley, gave a talk.
The lecture was used as an opportunity to officially unveil a wall hanging, produced by carpet-maker, Brintons, commemorating the town hall's 150 years.
Sue Harper, the district council's leisure services manager, said the lecture, on Friday, was well attended.
The following day, Kidderminster mayor, councillor Peter Dyke, officially opened the exhibition tracing the town hall's history.
