A TOOL and hire company making a nation-wide tour to promote a safety campaign has stopped in Evesham.
Speedy Hire's Safety From the Ground Up initiative aims to raise awareness of the new Work at Height legislation.
As part of this, it visited leading construction firm Morgan Est, which deals in complex engineering projects, to help site workers familiarise themselves with the new regulations. In 2004, falls from height accounted for some 67 deaths and more than 4,000 major injuries.
In response to Work At Height, Speedy has developed a range of posters, booklets, pocket guides, CDs, and stickers.
Adrian Butler, of Speedy Northern, said: "We are in the process of undertaking a UK wide tour of major construction sites to roll out our campaign.
To find out more, call the Work At Height hotline on 0845 606 6886.
"By working in partnership with our customers and through extensive research with major companies, we have found that most senior management and Health & Safety teams are aware of the regulations but that there is a real issue communicating these at the site level.
"We want to work with our customers directly on site to help make sure that people at the grass roots of organisations understand them."
The work at height regulations affect anyone, anywhere, any height, they require a risk assessment and for firms to list the correct use of products.
Companies in Evesham who would like to fine out more should call the Work At Height hotline on 0845 606 6886.
